10 Best Moving Tips!
Congratulations! You decided to move locally to San Diego! If you have never moved locally before, here are some tips to guide you through your move.

- Budget
Setting the budget might be the most important part of the process. This will be a turning point in deciding if you want to move by yourself or hire a professional moving company. If you decide that you want a moving company to assist you with everything, budget will determine what type of service you can expect. Keep in mind that usually the premium quality movers are usually not the least expensive option.

- Research
Now that you’ve set the budget it is time to do the research. Google it! Yelp it! Talk about the fact that you want to move and check with your friends for recommendations. After you gather a couple of names, start calling around. Keep in mind that pricing is not the only aspect to look out once choosing a company. Think about Customer service, responsiveness, diligence and commitment too.

- Background check
After calling around, try picking 3 of the best companies that have a similar range when it comes to both service and pricing. Then check the reviews. The best thing to look out for are the reviews previous clients leave. Of course, take those with a grain of salt. Sometimes our own perception can color the experience differently.

- Ink
Ask all of the quotes and contracts in written form. Email can work best for you. This is for you to have a peace of mind once scheduling a move. If something goes sideways you have your coverage.

- Schedule it
Once you have all of the information, do not wait long to schedule a move. Moving companies are usually pretty packed, especially in the summertime.
Call your relocation agent and lock it in.

- Prepare
Now, this is our favourite part of the process. Gor through your home, and find things you do not use, or that are no longer working. Try to donate some of the items you no longer wear. Perhaps a yard sale is also an option. In that way you can gather up some cash as well. For the items that no longer work but you were hanging on to them for some reason, moving is the best time to get rid of them.

- Pack
Now, depending on the type of service you chose, you might be packing on your own or the company is doing that for you.
Now if you got packers and movers service, completely relax and do not think about the packing.
However, if you are packing on your own start out by planning the whole packing process.
Also, keep in mind to order all kinds of boxes for the packing, as well as the packing paper.
Try to mostly pack by, at least, a day prior to the move.

- Day before
This is the day where you should defrost your freezer, move all of the foods and similar.
But most importantly, if you planned to pack on your own try to be as close as to finishing it as possible.
Also, pack a goodie bag just in case. Get water, snacks, toilet paper (trust us on this) and sanitizers and in case you have some medical issues pack the drugs for it.
At some point during the moving day, you might need some of the pick me up sweets, so do not hesitate to take a minute or two for you.

- The day
Okay, so the move date is officially here. You will be the guide for the movers. Try to keep out of their way as much as possible. By doing this you are enabling them to do their thing faster and safer.
Moreover, once they are done with the first location, try to be at the destination address before them to open the door. Once more you will be a guide here as well.
After the movers leave, try not to obsess with unpacking, decorating and rearranging items on the same day. Moving is really stressful and it does take a toll on all of us. So take a sip of coffee, beer and/or wine and relax.

- Day after
New day, new life! This is the time to calmly start unpacking. In case some things are damaged or broken, contact the customer service department to settle that issue for you. Moving is considered as one of the most stressful events in a person’s life. But why have a stressful experience when you can have the best movers in San Diego move you?
